MissionFish Board Members appointed to government advisory panel

- Abbie Rumbold and Mike Kelly, both Board Members of MissionFish, have been appointed to the panel of the new Third Sector Advisory Body by Minister Phil Hope. The panel was set up to provide ministers with clear and authoritative advice on policy regarding the third sector, including charities, voluntary groups and social enterprises.
- As well as chairing the MissionFish Board, Abbie Rumbold is a partner at solicitors Bates, Wells and Braithwaite. Mike is Head of KPMG Europe’s Corporate Social Responsibility function.
- Phil Hope, Minister for the Third Sector, said: “The advisory body has a hugely important role in helping the Government make the right choices for a thriving third sector. I am confident their expertise, experience and authority will prove invaluable in our drive to support the third sector and the increasingly important part it plays in society."
- Baroness Jill Pitkeathley OBE, who chairs the Advisory Body, said:
- “I’m delighted with these appointments. Their range of experience and backgrounds will ensure a robust advisory body that won’t be afraid to talk straight. We will start work as soon as possible to ensure that the third sector’s interests are put at the heart of policy making."
